Powerful global product portfolio strengthened with Emesto™ and Evergol™
Following the successful launch of Poncho™/Votivo™ into corn, cotton and soybeans in the United States, Bayer CropScience continues to offer growers further tailor-made solutions. Emesto™ represents a new seed treatment generation to increase plant health and yield potential of potatoes. It helps potato growers to control tuber-borne diseases, e.g. silver scab (Helminthosporium) and dry rot (Fusarium) as well as soil-borne diseases such as black scurf (Rhizoctonia). In 2012, Emesto™ received registrations in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and in the Ukraine.
Black scurf is also an important disease in canola. EverGol™, Bayer CropScience´s newest seed treatment fungicide family has been recently granted its first regulatory approval worldwide in Canada and will be available for the 2012 planting season. Seeds treated with EverGol™ are fitter resulting in better crop establishment, a prerequisite for higher yields. Bayer CropScience is developing customer-oriented solutions on the basis of EverGol™ for various broad acre crops such as soybeans, corn, cereals, cotton and rice.
Peridiam™ film coatings for enhanced crop growth
Bayer CropScience Cérès is one of the world´s leading providers of advanced seed technology. It offers an extensive portfolio of film coatings and fluency powders, pelleting processes and services to seed companies. Film coatings marketed globally under the brand name Peridiam™ enhance the performance of seed treatments. Peridiam™ improves the coverage around the seed, increases flowability and plantability of treated seeds. Furthermore, Bayer CropScience Cérès offers customers pelleting expertise, latest technologies and methods for seed germination, plant emergence and vigor, as well as other kinds of plant physiology tests. This includes methods of analyzing seed treatment quality, flowability and abrasion tests, and evaluation of dust formation in treated seeds.

Bayer CropScience is constantly expanding its global network of service centers for seed treatment. Today, the company is operating 10 Seed Treatment Application Centers (STAC) around the world. The services range from training on the correct application of seed treatment products, development of customized treatment recipes and advice on machinery to seed treatment processes. InVigor™ hybrid canola has consistently delivered the highest yielding and highest quality canola on the North American market. Bayer CropScience is also able to offer European farmers in 17 countries high-quality hybrid and open pollinated lines of oilseed rape. Cotton growers, especially in Latin America, benefit from FiberMax™ seeds with Stoneville™ and Surpass™ completing Bayer CropScience´s leading global cottonseed portfolio further distinguished by extensive value adding traits for weed and pest control. To help US farmers grow high-yielding soybeans, control weeds and manage weed resistance, HBK™ soybean seeds are sustainable and profitable solutions. Arize™, Bayer CropScience´s global hybrid rice seed, has proven to yield around 20 percent more than the best semi-dwarf inbred varieties.
And with an extensive range of 28 crops and some 2,500 varieties of Nunhems™ brand vegetable seed, serviced by 26 breeding stations in 14 countries, Bayer CropScience is already present in all major vegetable production areas in the world.
